Traer y Llevar
Traer y llevar son dos verbos cuyo uso es frecuentemente confundido.
(Traer y llevar are two verbs which are frequently confused. )
La principal diferencia y truco para identificar cuál debemos usar es la posición, ya sea física o imaginada, de la persona que habla y la dirección en la que se lleva el objeto o persona.
(The main difference and the easiest way to identify which one we must use, is the position of the speaker and the direction of the object or person he takes or brings. )
El significado de ambos verbos nos da una idea:
(The meanings give us an idea: )
Traer: Conducir o trasladar algo hacia el lugar en el que se está o del que se habla.
(Traer: Drive or move someone or something toward the speaker or to the place (s )he is talking about. )
Juan traerá el coche a mi casa.
El hablante (yo ) está en el lugar (mi casa ) hacia el que viene el objeto (el coche ).
(The speaker -I- is in the place -my house- to which the object -car- is being driven. ) yo estoy en casa.
juan viene a mi casa.
juan traerá la bebida aquí.
Llevar: Conducir algo desde un lugar a otro alejado de aquel en que se está o en el que se sitúa mentalmente la persona que habla.
(Llevar: Drive or move someone or something from the speaker ‘s location or from a place the speaker is talking about. )
Juan llevará el coche a la escuela.
El hablante (yo ) está en el lugar (mi casa ). Pero el objeto (el coche ) no viene en esta dirección, irá a otro lugar en el que no se está (la escuela ).
(The speaker -I- is in a place -my house-. But the object -car- is being driven to some other place -the school-. )
– yo estoy en casa.
– Juan va a la escuela.
– Juan llevará allí el coche.
Veámoslo con estos sencillos ejemplos:
(Let ‘s see all this in these easy examples: )
– Esta tarde traeré la nueva televisión.
Traer porque estoy en el lugar al que irá la nueva televisión.
(Traer because I am in the place TO which the TV will go. )
– Esta tarde llevaré la nueva televisión.
LLevar porque estoy en un lugar distinto al que irá la televisión.
(LLevar because I am not in the place the TV will go to. )
– Trae la fruta al salón.
Traer porque yo (el hablante ) estoy en el salón, y el objeto (la fruta ) se dirigirá al salón.
(Traer the speaker -I- is in the living room and the object -fruit- will go to the same place )
– Lleva la fruta al salón.
Llevar porque yo (el hablante ) NO estoy en el salón, y el objeto (la fruta ) se dirigirá al salón.
(Llevar because the speaker -I- IS NOT in the place where the object -fruit- will go to. )

Colores, género y número
Los colores son adjetivos. Los que terminan en vocal varian su terminación para adaptarse al mismo género y número que el sustantivo al que acompañan:
Colours are Adjectives. Those ending in a vowel change their ending to have the same gender and number than the noun they appear with:
La camisa roja
El libro rojo
Las camisas rojas
Los libros rojos
Los que terminan en consonante o en “-e” sólo varían en número. Si acaban en vocal se le añade -s y si acaban en consonante-es :
Those ending in an -e or a consonant only change the number. When they end in a vowel we add an -s, and -es if they end in a consonant:
El prado verde – Los prados verdes
La camisa verde – Las camisas verdes
La cocina azul – Las cocinas azules
El vaso azul – Los vasos azules
